CASAS DEL MAR Cava Blanc de Blanc Brut NV, (Penedes, Spain)
This producer of CAVA has very old vineyard holdings. Of particular note are the 70 year old Xarello vines. The Brut Blanc de Blanc is made from the traditional varietals of Parallada, Macabeo and Xarello. It is aged on the lees for about 22 months prior to disgorgement and finished with a French dosage.

GROTTA DEL SOLE Asprinio D’Aversa BRUT NV, (Campania, Italy)
The Asprinio grape is virtually unknown in the U.S. It is a grape native to the Campania region that is grown on volcanic soil and is the first from the region to be used to make a sparkling wine. The vines are actually grown in a high line of Poplar trees up to 20 meters high and is harvested completely by hand with the use of long ladders. It’s dry with hints of lemon. This hidden gem is a true discovery.

ADAMI Prosecco di Valdobbiadine DOCG "Vigneto Giardino" 2011,
The Vigneto Giardino, owned by the family since 1920, is the finest estate vineyard. Its wine competed as far back as 1933 in the 1ª Mostra dei Vini Tipici d'Italia (1st Exhibition of Italy's Traditional Wines). Dry and particularly fruity, well-balanced, with a rounded, light-bodied palate, it is a superb aperitif, but enjoyable as well when sipped at meal’s end, either by itself or paired with fresh fruit or tea biscuits.

DOMAINE PAUL ZINCK Crémant d’Alsace NV, (Alsace, France)
Paul Zinck crafts some outstanding wines from the region of Alsace in North-Western France. The Cremant Rose is made from 100% Pinot Noir and is produced using the traditional Champagne method. A short time in contact with the skins of the Pinot Noir grapes gives this bubbly it’s pretty pink hue. This has been one of my favourite value sparkling wines for years and is consistently delicious.
This dry rose is bursting with aromas and flavors of strawberry, raspberry and crisp apple. Try this fun sparkling wine with cedar planked salmon on the bbq or as a great way to get your next picnic started.
